It's Official!

I now know how to knit clothing! :D I'm still learning but so far (besides from making scarves) I've made a racerback tank and a lacy dress! Also, I know this isn't about baking at all, but I think from time to time I may post DIY-y related things on this blog. After all, it is called, "Karess' Kreations." ;) Hope y'all don't mind!
Made with 100% acrylic. For any knitters who would like to make this, the pattern can be found here.

Made with 100% cotton. For any knitters who would like to make this, the pattern can be found here.  *note: this was originally supposed to be made to be a tee (like instructed), but I accidentally ended up making the length too long so that is why it is now a dress.

If anyone is interested in buying any of these pieces or for me to make another in another color/size, let me know (email, comment, facebook, etc) and arrangements can possibly be made! :)

Farewell My Friend Part 4

Today I had to say goodbye to yet another friend. Some of you may remember Nicole from my very first post ever! ;)

One of the things that Nicole is obsessed with are cats, so I thought I'd decorate her jar with as many kitty stickers possible! She also tends to like both flowers and sunflowers so I placed them in the front of her jar near her name (you can see it on the top left picture). P.s the picture on the top right isn't your ordinary kind of sticker. In fact, it actually has quite a velvety feel to it! Pretty neat, huh? Haha

Now this post wouldn't be nearly complete if I didn't include pictures between Nicole and I through the years, right? :P

So long Nicole! Hope you have a blast in San Diego! I'll see you soon (maybe I'll even stop by for a visit)! :)
Just slight preview of what to expect in the next posts of the "Farewell My Friend(s)!" Only two more ( Tiffany[far left] & Nickta [far right] ) left until everyone is off to their next chapters! :(

Farewell My Friend(s) Part 2 & 3

This past weekend, two of my friends headed off to college. First to go was my friend, Janny. Janny is quite an interesting person. I'm so glad that I met her. She's one of those people who somehow can always manage to make me laugh!

The college she is attending is American University so I thought that it would be appropriate to decorate her jar in red, white [silver], and blue ;) .
For some reason, Janny and I don't have many pictures together so I had to work with what I had. Also if you read my previous post you may notice that, the girl in the back of the picture on the bottom right is Annalisa ;) !

Second to leave this weekend was Anisha!

Anisha is off to attend Syracuse University but unlike Janny's jar I decided to decorate Anisha's jar with Laker (her favorite basketball team) colors and stickers I had that I thought could describe Beyonce (her favorite musician/idol) in the best way possible.
I didn't initially plan on placing one of Beyonce's quote on top of the jar but it was just too big to fit into a fortune cookie... :|
Now for the pictures of Anisha and I through the years...!

Good luck to the both of you! I will see you both soon! :) And for those of you wondering, I am still working on the fortune cookie tutorial! I currently only have my iphone and a small canon camera to rely on to take pictures with, so bare with me (not to mention that I also just suck at taking pictures)!

Farewell My Friend

Today marks the first of many goodbyes. First to go today was my friend, Annalisa. To those of you who don't know her, here's a look back at the two of us through the years...

Okay, so by now you guys are probably wondering, "What's the point of this post? There's no baking involved whatsoever!" Ah-ha now that's where you're wrong! What you haven't seen yet is that I actually made a DIY gift for her to use while she's in college. :) It's actually a pretty simple gift that I'm sure all of you could make yourselves! Speaking of DIYs, I cannot promise anything for sure yet but stay tuned and (crossing my fingers that pictures turn out decent!) hopefully I'll be able to make a tutorial post on how to make this...! :D

In this mason jar are homemade fortune cookies!

Well, that's it for now! Stay tuned! And if you are reading this Annalisa, have fun in Colorado! See you in 98 days! :)

Jamie

Today marks the day as Jamie (you may also remember as my sister's "little sis") and her boyfriend's one year anniversary! Congrats to the two of them!

As a gift to her boyfriend, she requested me to make a cake that resembled this hat.
I tried my best to free hand the Seattle Mariners logo However, it was quite a challenge, so I apologize for it not being very accurate..
Flavor: Vanilla with vanilla buttercream
"Happy One Year! We hit it out of the ballpark!!"

Yay Summer!

Wooo! It's finally summertime! I'm finally graduated from high school and I don't have to worry about school until the fall! :D Congrats to the class of 2012! WE DID IT! Nevertheless I am oh so very sorry for lagging with my posts! But don't fret! I'll catch you guys up! ;)

June 15th (Rose themed cupcakes for Mrs. Crowley):
Flavor: Peanut butter chocolate chip with chocolate buttercream
Flavor: Chai with cream cheese buttercream
I'll try to sum this up as much as a I can, but basically Mrs. Crowley was my TA teacher for the past four years and June 15th was my last day of high school so I thought I'd thank her for all of the things she's done for me. :)
P.S. you see that person to the left of me? That's Mrs. Crowley! Isn't she fabulous?! ;)
Also thank you to Allen Chiu for taking this picture!

June 17th (Father's Day):
Flavor: Chocolate with chocolate buttercream
June 29th (Dodgers/baseball themed cake and cupcakes for Sean's birthday):
Flavor: Red velvet with cream cheese buttercream

Once again...
CONGRATS CLASS OF 2012! :D

June 8 - June 13

Normally I like to make a weekly post (depending on if I even have orders haha) but nevertheless, I forgot to add on two orders I got when I posted the post about Dance Dance Evolution!! Soo to catch you all up on what I've been up to.... ;)

Order #1 (June 8): Pig cupcakes for Jacqueline's mom.
Flavor: Vanilla with coconut custard filling
*the fondant is almond flavored

Order #2 (June 9): Princess cupcakes for Tori (to give to Mr. Case's daughter)

Flavor: Red velvet with cream cheese buttercream

Order #3 (June 11): A Northwood Timberwolf cake for the Distinguished Timberwolves Award Ceremony (to give to Mr. Banks)
Flavor: Vanilla with cream cheese buttercream
*This is the first cake I've made in awhile where I didn't cover it with fondant! Just a random fun fact! Haha

Last but not least...
Order #4 (June 13): Graduation cupcakes for Kennedy High's graduation
Flavor: Red velvet with cream cheese buttercream
*Another fun fact: this order was both ordered and finished on the same day! I surprisingly was able to successfully finish this order in about 3-5 hours! I'm still shocked.

For future orders: I would not recommend anyone to order last minute! I cannot guarantee that I will be able to always finish the order you wish to have. Nevertheless, it never hurts to ask for your desired baked good! Ideally, 4 days or more is a good amount to place an order (the more in advance the better). :)
