Cream Puffs

Cream puffs...yum!! I've always loved them since I was a little girl. I still remember going to Costco with my parents and wanting to grab a tub of these:

When my parents would let me, I literally would eat the whole tub myself. Not even kidding. These cream puffs would make me the happiest little girl ever!

Any who...

I've been craving cream puffs like crazy. In fact, I've been craving for some cream puffs since last week! However, my mom didn't quite get the hint that when I said that I was craving for cream puffs, that I didn't mean, "hey mom, can you please go to a bakery and buy me cream puffs?" I could easily say that I was craving for cupcakes, but that doesn't mean that I'd go out and buy myself a cupcake! That just wouldn't be fun! Long story short, I did end up eating the cream puffs she bought me. They were okay. Somehow though, when I ate another one the day after, the cream tasted sour....yeaaaaaah... that really wasn't fun... Anyways, I wanted MORE cream puffs so I finally made some last night since I knew I wouldn't have to wake up early for school today! Hehe

Here We Go Again

Okay, I don't know whether or not I'm actually craving all the desserts I'm making, or if just miss baking 24/7? Whatever the case may be, let's just say that my family isn't particularly happy with me right now (they're complaining that their pants aren't fitting :P). Hahaha. Anyways, last night I decided that I wanted to make bread/yeast doughs. I made two different baked goods, sweet rolls filled with cream cheese and pretzels. Unfortunately, the pretzels tasted okay but didn't look very "pretty" so I'm hoping to make them again soon and will post it up once I have somewhat perfected it! As for the sweet rolls here they are!

These sweet rolls filled with cream cheese were inspired by Asian pastries that I have always grown up with.  As of now, I'm okay with how they turned out but I'm hoping to possibly find a roll/bread that has a more lighter and airy texture (since that is what most of the Asian bakeries I have been to do).

I Think I Have a Problem..

These past few days, I have been making myself desserts [chocolate covered strawberries and homemade samoas]. Pathetic, right? The thing is, I randomly get cravings for things, but then when the product is complete, I no longer crave for what I was craving! Help..?!

The first thing I was craving for were chocolate covered strawberries...

I'm pretty embarrassed to admit this, but I think the main reason I was craving for these were because it was the night of Valentine's Day and... well... I didn't have a Valentine and thought I'd give myself a little treat.. :| [Also pictures of chocolate covered strawberries were all over my Instagram and Facebook feed!]

Off topic - but speaking of Valentine's Day... in my previous post, I mentioned that I went to a taping of the show, Chelsea Lately. The taping I went to happened to be the Valentine's Day episode! In case any of you missed the episode, it turns out that you can see me from the back! Hahaha

You can see my friend, RV and I in the front, on the right!
Fun fact: the white lace dress and light brown headband I'm wearing was actually hand knitted by me! :) So I guess I can kind of say that my "Kreations" made it onto tv...?! ;)

Okay, now for my last craving [as of now]: Samoas/Caramel DeLites

I actually have made/attempted to make Samoas before. It wasn't the most successful thing ever.. Back when I was a sophomore in high school, my friends, Annalisa, Nicole, and Lindsay thought it'd be a fun idea to make homemade Samoas. To be honest, it wasn't really totally made from scratch though. If my memory is correct, we made the cookie itself from scratch but cheated when it came to the caramel (we simply just bought caramel pieces and melted it). I mean I would say that we also cheated by using chocolate we melted and shredded coconut that we toasted buuuut you can't really make those from scratch...[technically, it's possible but that would be too much..] We also kind of got lazy and just didn't end up making cookies... we ended up making this....
What a beaut, eh? :P
Now for what I was able to make last night...

Before.... [& yes, the caramel was made from scratch this time!]

& after!!!!
I hope it's safe to say that my baking has improved since sophomore year..?

Chelsea Lately Round Dos!

It's officially Valentine's Day where I am so happy Valentine's Day everyone! Hope you all have a great day with your valentine! If you don't have a valentine, don't fret. Just think of all of the chocolates that'll be on sale tomorrow! ;) Heh Anyways, so yesterday (2/1313), I went to yet, another Chelsea Lately taping! The last time I went, I brought Holiday/Christmas themed cupcakes to the Chelsea crew. This time I came and brought Valentine's Day themed cupcakes! Here they are! P.S. if you happen to catch Chelsea Lately tonight, look out for a girl wearing a bright red cardigan and headband! ;) Hehe

Valentine's themed cupcakes!
I'm a girl with an iPhone, it's hard for me to not use instagram to filter/"edit" pictures. [Photographers, you must hate me. I'm sorry! I've tried "editing" pictures on my computer countless amounts of times but they always seem to look very odd...]

Super Heroes Unite!

Literally a week ago I got a call from a woman named Doris. She left a voicemail (I failed to pick up because I was still sleeping..heh oops :P) saying that she had found me on Yelp. I recently added Karess Kreations on Yelp about 2 or 3 weeks ago but I wasn't ready to tell everyone, but hey if she was able to find me then I guess the secret is out! Soo... if you wish, here is my Yelp! Feel free to bookmark me! ;) Anyways, back to the story - She called to ask if I could make her daughter a super hero cake. Not going to lie, but when I first heard the message, I was a bit hesitant. One, I had no idea who this woman was nor have I ever met her (all of my previous cakes and cupcakes were made for people I have met before/knew). Two, I basically pretty much absolutely knew nothing about super heroes. & well.. that's pretty much it! Any who, after speaking and e-mailing each other throughout the week, all of the details of the cake were confirmed. Initially, we spoke about doing a cake with just batman's and superman's symbols on a two tiered mini-ish cake (the cake was only needed to feed 15 people), but later my friend, Tiffany sent me a picture of a cake that had fondant figures of super heroes. I thought they looked absolutely adorable and challenging (I haven't had the besssst luck with making fondant people...remember this?). After I sent her that picture, she agreed that we should add the fondant heroes of Superman, Batman, the Incredible Hulk, Spiderman, and Iron Man. She also requested that I add cow somewhere in the cake due to her daughter's wish to have a pet cow one day. I think that's enough story time, don't cha think? Sooo look below for the cake! :)
Here's the cake! My very first super hero cake and not to mention one of the first non-fondant covered cakes that I've made in a very very very long time! Haha
The fondant super heroes, featuring the birthday girl, Alicia in the top middle picture! (I know it wasn't asked but I thought it'd be cute to top the cake with the birthday girl)

The cake probably looks somewhat big-ish but in real life it was pretty minuscule looking so I wasn't quite sure that it would feed the 15 people that Doris had said would be needed to feed. The cake itself looked like it could either feed the exact amount or a few servings less so to be on the safe side, I included about 17 cake pops varying of these red and yellow sprinkled cake pops along with the blue sprinkled cake pops below.

On another note... Valentine's Day is coming up and what better way to show your love to your special someone then with cupcakes?! & as a special for Valentine's Day, you can surprise your loved one with a heart filled cupcake! :)

Ooh Ooh Baby

So I'm not really sure if this is supposed to be on the down low or whatnot but let's just say that I got asked to make baby shower cupcakes for one of my favorite teachers in high school! I've known about the pregnancy since I want to say Halloween (..?), but it wasn't until today that I'd be making the actual cupcakes for the shower. Ah, I'm so excited for her! I forgot to take pictures of what I gave her, but I made her a grey cardigan and blue with a hint of white sweater for her baby. Hopefully, she'll send pictures when/if he wears it! :D Any who, I was told to make jungle themed cupcakes, so here's my take on them!

This was used as inspiration to make some of the toppers

On a more depressing note (sorry..), earlier this week, my friend asked me to make cupcakes for her and her friends back in college. Let's just say they didn't have the most pleasant trip ever... :| Also, sorry for the terrible quality pictures.. I was in a rush..

It's About Time!

I apologize in advance for this super brief post... but many of you have asked me if I had business cards, and I can now officially say that I do!!
My business cards!! Yayayayaya! I'm so excited!
